Cleavers Cold Water Infusion Recipe

~ Cleavers Cold Water Infusion ~
Right now, there’s a wild, lush flush of Cleavers in the garden, which makes it perfect timing for one of my favorite nourishing brews!
You might know Cleavers as those sticky little hitchhikers (aka biddy bids, sticky willy, goosegrass or velcro plant) that cling to your clothes or your cat… but did you know they’re also an incredible tonic?
I like to make Cleavers into a cold water infusion: it’s hydrating, detoxing, and packed with goodness:
~ High in Vitamin C
~ Rich in Silica (think glowing skin, strong nails + shiny hair!)
~ Gently supports the lymphatic system: great for swollen glands, infections, and post-illness recovery
~Helps flush out toxins via the urinary system (is a strong diuretic).
Try it yourself! Here’s how:
~ Pick a large handful of young, tender cleavers (avoid older prickly leaves).
~ Rinse well + remove any bugs or bits.
~ Stuff into a big jar or jug.
~ Fill with fresh cold water.
~ Let steep overnight in the fridge (or on the bench in winter).
~ Strain + sip throughout the day!
Tastes like cucumber-meets-banana: weird, but oddly refreshing!
